Sneaker 101:
Air Force 1 sneakers by Nike are my all-time favorite sneaker. Although
I am not a “sneaker head” and I do often times prefer more non-sneaker shoes, these are the greatest sneakers ever invented by mankind.
Yes, thousands of color variations have been made to make the shoes distinctive
(my hobby when I was little for dealing with dirty Forces was to buy different
colored sharpies and color over the dirt, thus giving me a brand new pair of
shoes, that is, until it rained three days later), but for me, they're the shoe
equivalent of the black suit/black dress. Yes, things can be done and have been
to make them flashy, but nothing will ever really top the class of the original
white/white, and black/black prototype.
With regard to my
constant consumption of these shoes (I have owned at least a black/black or a
white/white AF1for 9 straight years), and I know others have their love of this
show as well.
